Hoop and the Harm
My biggest pet peeve in basketball these days is that anytime a player gets knocked to the ground, they have to lay motionless on the ground for a few minutes as if they're on the brink of death. If a skinny WR can bounce up after being drilled over the middle by a free safety, then Dwyane Wade can pull himself up from the floor after driving the hoop. Sadly, it doesn't look this trend will be ending anytime soon:

i saw livingston pull the same move the other night in the clippers game. annoying.
this is the reason i can't watch soccer. everything else about the sport is cool, but the minute they get banged in the shin, they roll around on the ground crying for five minutes.
I remember that play too. It seemed like the cameraman got the worst of the collision, but Livingston was the one that went motionless.
What am I missing? First, thats about as funny as Josh Howard's nuts getting ripped by Avery. Second, why did no one help him? WTF!? Ha Ha! They try to keep playing and then are like "Dude, get up? Fuck this I am going home." hahahhahhaha!

I really don't make a habit out of mocking anyone that leaves a comment, because I really do appreciate everyone that takes the time to do so. However sometimes people just beg for it and I can't help myself...
I know you are "the man" and all; and hey, you were even an all-state basketball player. But after you tear your ACL twice, it might be time to start working a little bit on kicking the cobwebs out of the skull and using your brain for a change. Do you think it's possible that these people leaving comments are just joking and everyone (even those who never got to do an "elephant walk" with fellow all-staters) actually realizes it's probably a serious injury? Ya think maybe they're just being facetious with their remarks? I dunno--I guess you do know better, having scored 40 points for Polk High and all. Anyway, I know you have work to do, so I won't take up more of your time. But do you think on your way to the back, you could see if you have these in a 10 1/2? Thanks.

Actually, it really doesn't hurt when you tear your ACL. It feels a bit akward though, and it'll limit what you can do, and it'll definitely hurt if you try to jump with a torn ACL, but the actual ripping usually doesn't hurt, at least from my experience.

Let me tell you, blowing out your ACL doesnt hurt immediatley. Only when you try to move your leg again. Then you are talking about some real pain. Im totally Serial!
