There's No Crying in Football!

Marvin Lewis' reaction to questions about Carson Palmer's knee injury in which he tore his MCL and ACL:

"Gee whiz," Lewis said. "The guy got hurt. Let it go. There's nothing you can do. You can't get it back. To sit there and baby and cry like their quarterback did -- ridiculous."

Lewis evidently was referring to the way Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger complained after Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman hit him during their game in Pittsburgh last month.

As far as sportsmanship goes, that was a pretty classless jab at Roethlisberger. But I must admit, in today's day of free agency where there's very little loyalty, it's great to see two teams that genuinely hate each other. I'm sure Bill Cowher will exact his revenge on Marvin Lewis by spitting on him at their next pregame meeting. Although with Cowher, he could just be saying "Hi. Good luck." and he'd lose a liter in loogies by the time he hit the "k" sound.
