Trevor Ariza Needs Respect; Jerome James Needs AFLAC.

Quick hits as I head out the door.

Larry Brown demotes Trevor Ariza from starter to #11 on the depth chart. In fact, he didn't even see playing time in the triple OT game. But the real story is that Brown didn't have the decency to tell Ariza face-to-face about his benching. Ariza found out about the demotion from the Knicks' PR guy. Ouch. When questioned on his methods, Brown said something to the effect of: When you've been sucking the way Ariza has, you don't need me to know your ass is headed for the pine.

Jerome James doesn't sound like he'll be seeing the court anytime soon. He says he's only at about 70%. I think he's out with a bruised ego.

Game of the night: UCLA at Arizona. Both are perimeter teams. Should be an up-and-down game as long as Farmar's ankle is ok. Arizona got a nice headstart on the Pac 10 race when they won at Washington while UCLA lost at home to Cal. If UCLA wants to be a contender for the regular season crown, they can't let the Cats get too far ahead of them.

Embarassing Tivo moment: Yes I'm recording the premiere of Dancing With the Stars tonight. It's Stacey Keibler's legs. I just can't resist them. I'm a weak, weak man.

Jerome James is a poor man's Vin Baker. I think he's the only guy ever to be IR'd with a hangover. Maybe that's why he's only playing at 70%.

Although if you take 70% off Jermone James, he still weighs 280 pounds.
